Thyra La’Chelle Irving was born on April 19,1967 in Chester Pennsylvania to Frank Freeman and Cynthia Showell. She departed this life on Friday November 4,2022 surrounded by family. Thyra was predeceased by her daughter Thyra L. Irving in 1999. Thyra accepted Jesus as her lord and savior at a very young age. Thy-E as she was lovingly called by many was educated in Chester’s public school district. She graduated from Chester High School class of 1986 and went on to work at Chester Extended Care, Fair Acres, Saint James Nursing Care and Riddle Village.
Thyra was a devoted member of True Fellowship Bible Church where she was on the usher board, worked in the finance room and was reverend by Pastor Robert Williams. Thyra knew and loved God and her church family and remained faithful until her health would not allow her to attend.
Thy-E was most known for her laughter that made us all laugh and for saying “Heyyyy My Babyyyyy!” She loved to collect angels, dance, laugh and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren who call her MeeMom. Thyra loved her family and showed up and supported them in any way she could.
Thyra leaves to cherish her memories: Her children Asmyra Trusty, Victor Longer Jr. Asmar Longer, Cynthia Longer and Tyree Longer. Her grandchildren, Noah Longer, Brookllynn Johnson-Trusty and Zykee longer.
Her god daughter Jamyia Cogmon. Her mother Cynthia Showell (Larry), her father Frank Freeman, Her sister Blanche Irving, her nieces Stephanie Ellis, Terrisha Irving and Te’Ondrea Irving. Her nephews Ja’Waun Chambers and Jimmie Chambers. Her great nieces Ce’Niyah Walter, Jayla Chambers and Jayde Carroll and her great nephew Aaron Whitaker. She also leaves special Aunts Patricia Berry and Glenn Hollis, Special uncle/brother Tyrone Irving and special cousins Gloria Cogmon and Mickey. Also, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, step brothers and steps sisters ,friends and church family.
