Teresa Thomas Obituary

Teresa Nadine Thomas was born On September 16, 1958 in Chester Pa to the late Willa Mae Thomas and Willie (Brother) Price. She went home to be with the lord on October 22, 2021 at the Christiana Care Hospital in Wilmington Delaware. Teresa was raised in the Lamokin Village Project. During this time, she got the nickname “SUEYE” from all her friends. Teresa home in the Lamokin village was open to everyone her children always joked that their home was a SHELTER to the neighborhood kids. But that just was the kind of person she was. The type of person that fed everyone and her doors was never closed to anyone. Teresa attended public schools and graduate from Chester High class of 1977. In 2010 Teresa went back to school during this time she got her Associates degree Leadership from Harcum College class of 2013. Being a leader has always been one of Teresa known strengths she fault to complete school as an adult with the help of her daughter Chanel. Teresa encouraged Chanel to attend Harcum College with this making them the first mother &daughter duo to graduate at the I-lead Chester program.

Teresa was a member of Life in Christ Cathedral of faith under Bishop Dickie Robbins in the 90’s participating in Bible School teaching children of many ages. She was a member of many ministries in the church community. One known fact about Teresa was her love for the LORD. She would pray for everyone. She was a loving mother, friend, companion, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Teresa loved to travel the world she once visited Yardenit the baptism site on the Jordan River in 2006. During this travel Teresa herself was baptized in the Jordan River. You could always find Teresa at one of many church conference’s her favorite being Daughters of Judah she attended this conference every December. And has met many people.

Teresa worked at Fair Acres as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Woodlyn Academy Daycare, she also did Private Duty (helping elderly people). Teresa last employment was with Chester Community Charter School. After her resignation she began to do what she loved best Taking care of her grandchildren, Teresa loved for her family was extraordinary.

Teresa joined Eternal Hope of Glory under Apostle Hal Best were, she was a member until she left this earth. Apostle Best and his Wife Madeline took Teresa under their wing and treated her as if she was one of their siblings. They were not just her mentor in Christ she considers them as family. Teresa participated in so many things at the church giving support to each church members or giving prayers to anyone that needed it.

Teresa leaves to cherish her children one son Eric Thomas Sr. Three daughters Shakeya Thomas, Chanel Thomas and Kaneesha Thomas. Three grand daughters Sa’Nye Thomas, Egypt Thomas and Aamailah Thomas. Four Grandsons Eric Thomas Jr., Zamaj Thomas, Jahmaad Thomas and Israel Thomas. One Great Grand son Zaire Thomas. And her special niece/daughter Tonnaye Thomas. Teresa is predeceased by her mother Willa Mae Thomas who is the mother of Teresa Siblings William Hales(Ann), Vilese Thomas, Bernadette Thomas (Keith) and Anthony Thomas (Javal). And Predeceased By her father Willie Price who is the father of Teresa’s siblings Sandy Wray, Floyd Harrell, Maurice Cottman, Donna Rothwell, Kevin Smith, Dorethea Selby, Kenneth Imani, Marcel Harmon, Daphene Cobb, Pastor Brian Pittman and Royce Shelton. Teresa leaves to Cherish her god children Aisha and Kyaisha Hollis, Kalisha Gibbs, Danisha Legette, Kareem Holland and Theodora Chambers. Her best friends Cynthia Ricks, Jackie McIver and Barbara Hollis. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
