Sammy’s Life Story

Samuel M. Goldsborough, 80 of Chester, PA, took his final flight into the Arms of the Almighty God on February 14, 2022. Samuel was born July 31, 1941 to the late Alvin and Stella Townsend Goldsborough.

He was educated in the Chester Upland School district as a child. In his adult life, he served our country in the US army receiving an honorable discharge. One of his specialties while serving his country was being an excellent cook. Upon discharge he continued cooking and became a well-known chef through-out the Philadelphia and Delaware County area.

Samuel “Sammy” attended various churches in which he enjoyed hearing the Word of God. He was known for his great sense of humor and loved to laugh and have fun. Sammy enjoyed taking walks and bus rides. Sammy also enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with family about the good old days.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Stella Townsend-Goldsborough, three sisters: Marian Purnell, Rita Wesley, and Adelaide Goldsborough, five brothers: Thomas, Joseph, David, John and Nathaniel Goldsborough.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters: Sylvia Jennings of Bear, DE, Naomi Grant and Kathryn Hill both of Brookhaven, PA and Stella Goldsborough of Chester, PA, one brother: James, “Jimmy” Goldsborough of Chester, PA of whom he adored tremendously. He leaves A host of nieces and nephews and a special great nephew, Maurice Goldsborough who was his care giver in the later days of Samuel’s life until God called him home. He also leaves a host of many other family members and friends.

Thank God that Sammy did not suffer. He answered the call “peacefully” when God called his name at his home.
