Ronald Washam, 79 was born on May 5, 1943 in Chester, PA to the late Thomas Elam and Ruth Washam –Jones.
He attended school in the Chester Upland School District and graduated from Chester High. At a young age Ronald attended and was Baptize at Murphy A.M.E. Church in Chester Pa. Ronald worked at The D’s Laundromat and Atlantic Steel of Chester, as a laborer out of the Local 57 and local 413 until retiring.
Ronald loved visiting and doing for his mother, never complained and always said when asked “I’m doing the best I can, there’s someone worse off than me, and as long as I can keep going I will”. Ronald wanted to be independent even in the beginning going on the bus back and forth to dialysis. Ronald enjoyed doing search words puzzles, watching sports, going out to eat, taking walks and going to the mall.
Ronald was married to the late Lorraine (Cherry) Jones where he was united with 4 children. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Elam and Ruth Washam-Jones; brother Thomas Washam.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters Rhonda Bootie Boo Riggins (Richard); Lovey Mickey Robinson (Lenny) and Lucille Jones; one son Harold Packer; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three sisters Grace Bowles (George), Marjorie Singleton, Patricia Treaty Roberts, a special niece Monique Moe Singleton-Maxwell, a Special friend Ms. Brenda Barfield and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
