Ron “Rahmein” was born on January 4, 1963 in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Gussie Lee Johnson and Esther Bowman Johnson.
Ron attended schools in the Chester-Upland School District and graduated from Chester High School.
Ron was the youngest child in the Johnson family. He was kind, loving, friendly and helpful. As a teen, Ron became the quasi-babysitter for his nieces and nephews. During his time with them, he would enthrall them with scenes from the westerns and karate movies that he enjoyed watching. He would also entertain them with the moves that he learned from those shows. Ron developed a deep interest in karate training for a short time and could often be seen walking around carrying his nunchucks.
After high school, Ron was employed at Lasko Metal Products as an assembly worker. Upon leaving Lasko, Ron worked in the Law Offices of Attorney Clinton L. Johnson as an office assistant. Later, he was employed at George W. Hill Correctional Institution in Thornbury, Pennsylvania for eleven years before his illness.
In August 2000, Ron joined Jessica Rios in matrimony. From that union, one son Rahmein Antonio “Tony” Johnson was born. Tony was the love of Ron’s life. Ron loved spending time with Tony playing video games, watching “Everybody Hates Chris” and “George Lopez”. They also enjoyed going to see the latest Avengers movies.
Ron loved his family and despite his illness he made it a practice to regularly call his siblings and other family members to remain in touch and reminisce.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by brothers Charles Kenny, Robert Kirk, Louis Van, and Britt Johnson; and sisters Bonita Elaine and Carolyn Ann Johnson.
Ron maintained his faith and fought a good fight until God decided to give him rest. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his son Rahmein Antonio of Chester, brothers Attorney Clinton (Gladys) Johnson and Gary (Laura) Johnson of Chester; sisters Phyllis (John) Nails of Middletown, DE; Carrie Jennings of Media, PA and Pamela (Al) Johnson of Bear, DE; aunts Maggie Gardner of Chester and Louise Lanier Finn of Suitland, Maryland; nieces and nephews Brynia, Shavonne, Shamira, Satoria, Cheyenne, Brion, Robert Jr., Gary Jr., and Clinton Johnson, Jr; Britt Bowen, Danette Taylor, Tanique and Rudolph Nails, Darren Stack, and Kendall Daniels; a sister-cousin Michelle Holland; a goddaughter Ronia Moore; a childhood friend Robert Fleming,; and a host of other relatives and friends.
