Robert Lee Ross was born on March 7, 1937, in Forest City, NC to Maggie and Robert Ross. He was the sixth child of seven siblings. Robert was raised by his sisters Ruth and Ola after his parents passed away. Robert attended Rutherford County School District and moved to Bronx, NY with his brother Charles but did not like the big apple and decided to settle in Chester, PA. While in Chester, Robert met his dear friend Alex Lewis who introduced Robert to the love of his life Celia Theodosia Ross whom he married on April 13, 1968.
Robert’s employment included road construction, The Baldt Anchor Company, and The Chester Upland School District, where he retired after 30 years as a food truck driver. In his spare time, Robert loved spending time with his grandsons David and Najee, he was their Pop-pop. Pop-pop and David enjoyed watching Perry Mason, Matlock, In the Heat of the Night, and WWE wrestling and having lengthy discussions about entertainment and the news. Pop-pop and David also enjoyed quoting the lyrics to In the Heat of the Night which were, but hold on, it won't be long. Yes, just you be strong. And it'll be all right.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory a dear friend and brother-in-law Alex Lewis, of Middletown, DE and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
