Paulette Harris Harmon was born on July 23, 1942 to Dorthoy E. Harris and the late Leonard Harris at Sacred Heart Hospital in Chester, Pennsylvania. She passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on March 28, 2020.
Paulette graduated from Chester High School in 1960 and received her Bachelor of Education Degree from CheyneyUniversity in 1966. Paulette taught for a total of 36 years. Paulette married George Harmon in 1977 and they enjoyed 44 years together. You knew this was a match made in heaven. Paulette and George enjoyed traveling together. George was a guardian angel to Paulette. He was everything on earth to Paulette; her hands, and feet, her eyes, but never her mouth. Paulette could speak for herself and did not ever need the help of anyone in this area. If you know here, you will appreciate that she spoke her mind.
Paulette was very meticulous about herself, her food and her environment. She was a “Golden Lady” with a splashes of blue. Due to health issues, she could have easily been all blue but with Paulette, suffering looked natural and almost easy because she wore pain, suffering and afflictions like the cape of a superhero. She never looked like what she was going through and had been through.
She was a former meme we Calvary Baptist Church and was very instrumental in the development of the First Teenage Club.
Paulette was an avid basketball fan and the 76ers were the highlight films. Allen Iverson was her favorite. Paulette would have a posted schedule before of all the games and it was knownnot to disturb her during game time. Paulette was a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., for over 55 years.
Paulette was preceded in death by her loving father, Herman Leonard Harris; three great-granddaughters Nevaeh, Nylah, and Ny’Mylah Lawrence, special friend Betty Nickles, special uncles Threston “Lefty” Roots and York “Junior” Hicks. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband George Harmon; her mother Dorothy Harris; one son Shawn Harris; step-son Steve Johnson; step-daughter Paula Harmon, 4 sister-in-laws; Frances, Ida Mae, Hazel, and Lydia; six grandchildren; Katira (Nasiyr), Shawn (Dynel), Shanea, Shamira (Lacine), Shamar and Shaneen, sixteen great-grandchildren; Kya, Zeriah, Craig Jr., Zaida, Zaleah, Zena, Kasen, Shamar Jr., Karsynn, Key’Ashia, Kayden, Shawn III, Ayanni, Nishawn, Quadir, Samaad; a special aunt Becky Roots, special niece, Brenda Hampton, and 3 special cousins; Dr. Lovell Harris, Roxanna “Sister” Cox and Bernard “Bernie” Harris. As well as her divine group of friends and sisters Tillie Madric, Willie Wells, Brenda Jackson, Dorthoy “Hollywood” Green, and and Dr. Anna “Gumby” Krishnapp, along with a host of friends, colleagues, and extended family.
