Maurice Lamont Pinkard Sr.

Maurice Lamont Pinkard Sr was born October 31, 1977 in ( VA) to Mary Ann Pinkard and the late James Earl Pinkard.

Maurice attended Accomac County Schools and graduated from Arcadia High School then served in the US Army and lived as a proud veteran. He also attend Technical School in Pennsylvania where Maurice later developed his craft as a Master Carpenter which is how he built a legacy. 

Maurice , affectionately known as Scoop or Moe, loved his family and friends. Maurice believed in ensuring all of his family needs were met and enjoyed making others laugh. There was never a dull moment when Maurice would enter the room. Family and friends anticipated what he had to say that would have everyone almost in tears laughing.

Even as a comedian he was serious about the unconditional love he had for his wife, kids and grandkids.

Much like his father, Maurice made himself available to help others in need, which drew him to become a member of Sports Club Continental where he gained the nickname VA and became a huge asset to the club and community.

On July 23, 2022 Maurice’s vibrant life transitioned to a higher calling however his legacy lives on.

Maurice is survived by the love of his life, Caprice: from this union is daughter Italia Pinkard, his sons Maurice JR., Rykeise and Maaliq Godwin, Robert Edwards and daughter Taja Dickerson. Four grandchildren, Ma’Kylah, Zara, Aidyn and Allure, his mother Mary Ann Pinkard (Va) brothers Harry Pinkard (Md) ,Tommy Brown, Brian White, DeAndre Brown(Va) and Jermaine Brown (MD). A host of close family members and friends.

Maurice was preceded in death by his brother Anthony Brown, sister Shrell Meyers Pinkard, nieces ( Krystal and Zenia ), father James Earl Pinkard.
