Marilyn Louise Belle, age 76, long time Chester resident. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Marilyn Louise Belle; who suddenly transitioned from labor to reward while at home in Chester, PA, on Monday, September 9, 2024. Marilyn was educated in the Chester Upland School District, and was a proud member of the Chester High School graduating Class of 1967. She was employed as a machine operator for FoamEx, a division of Scott Paper, from 1977 until she retired in 2000. Upon retirement, Marilyn spent the next 13 years of her life as a dutiful caretaker for her mother, Climmie, until her passing in 2013.
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memories, her son, William T. Lee, Jr (Terrell), Chester, PA; daughters, Ronnette “Deja” Belle Johnson (Dante) Clayton, DE, Victoria S. Smith, New Castle, DE, Kywanna Anderson, West Chester, PA, and Daughter-in Love, Sherri Cunningham, Washington, DC. Her fur-babies, Coco and Mobley, Chester, PA. Brothers, Andrew C. Belle, Newark, DE, Willie James Simmons and Nathaniel Bryant, Quitman, GA, Nathaniel “Nate” Belle, Chester, PA. Sisters, Bobby Jean Anderson, Chester, PA and Eddie Joe Davis, Quitman, GA. Nieces and nephews whom were raised in “the Village” as her children, Tasheka S. Thomas, Penns Grove, NJ, Kimberly E. Jackson, Chester, PA, Atashe Thomas, Penns Grove, NJ; and her closest and dearest great niece, caregiver and confidant, Azitae “Zeets” Thomas, Chester, PA. Nephews, Robert W. Anderson, Chester, PA, Wayne L. Anderson (Stephanie) Drexel Hill, PA, Devonaire Thomas, Chester, PA. Her last surviving uncle and family patriarch, Ross Canady, Sr., (Katie), Chester, PA, aunt Emogene Thomas (Legusta), Chester, PA; and dear cousin, Roslyn “Elaine” Head Lyons (Kenneth) Oakland, CA.
Marilyn is the daughter of the late Nabutha Belle and Climmie L. Head Bell. And the mother of the late Marshelle L. Lee.
Marilyn’s celebration of life is planned for Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Community Baptist Church, 325 West 7th Street, Chester PA. Viewing: 8:00 am – 10:00 am. Services: 10:00 am. Interment is private. Repast: St. Luke Community Christian Church Center, 320 Tilghman Street, Chester, PA. Arrangements: Lewis Hunt Irving Funeral Home, Chester PA. This event will be live streamed.
