Marie Hynson Valentine

Marie Hynson Valentine, 74, of Chester, PA entered into peaceful rest on March 29, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Chester, PA on May 31,1950 to the late Edward Carter II (Bones) and the late Rose McLaughlin Carter. She was the youngest girl of six children. Marie was educated in the Chester Public School System and graduated from Chester High.

Marie was a loving, caring, and strong woman she was known for her generosity, resilience, and strength. She was a “straight shooter” and always spoke from her heart and said whatever was on her mind. She was always the first to offer a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness earned her the nickname “Mom Marie”.

Marie worked for Allied Chemical, later General Chemical for many years until her retirement. After retirement, she held a Housekeeping position at Grantie Farms Estates.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband John Valentine, two siblings: Gwendolyn Carter, and Dwight Carter. Two children whom she loved dearly: Lateef Hynson and Lavar Hynson, a daughter-in-law Dr. Takisha Hynson, her grandchildren, Jason Hynson, Lauryn Hynson, Jade Hynson, Kyrie Hynson and Logan Hynson.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and die-hard Philadelphia Phillies Fan!
