Lynne Lampkin Obituary

Lynne “Renee” Lampkin was born the oldest daughter of IvennaJohnson and the late Vernon Lampkin on April 28th 1964. A woman full of zest and vigor Renee was called home to rest onSunday November 22, 2020. Renee lost her father very early in life and was blessed to have a bonus dad, the late Thomas Taft Johnson Jr.

Renee had a love of life that could not be surpassed. Renee was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System and worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. In her later years, Renee suffered a disability that prevented her from working however it did not dim her light and her love of life. Renee’s disability was almost invisible to most as she was very independent and insisted on doing as much as she possibly could on her own.Renee was able to spend the majority of her time with her youngest son Derek, whom she affectionately called Booshems, which inspired her independence as she was determined to do as much as she could for him without assistance.

Renee enjoyed her family and had an exceptional love for her children and grandchildren. She was affectionately known by multiple nicknames, which she loved an got a big kick out of, including, Mack Mommy, Lenny and Mouth From The South. Renee loved to entertain and enjoyed the company of family and friends. Renee enjoyed music and it was not uncommon to find her and her partner in crime, her cousin David, singing a duet of their many favorite songs. Renee loved all kinds of music and could always be found on Sunday morning blasting her favorite song, Rough side of the mountain.

Renee took great pride in her appearance and was always on point with her hair, lashes, outfit and shoes. So much so that shewouldn’t even want to answer the door if she wasn’t on point.Renee enjoyed dancing and at times appeared to be about to dance out of her wheelchair. Renee loved spending time with her children and she had a unique relationship with each of them.

Renee leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, IvennaJohnson; one daughter, Tylisha Lampkin, four sons, VernonLampkin, Tyriek Lampkin, Malik Lampkin, and Derek Lampkinand one who proceeded her in death, Anthony Lampkin; Two sisters, Tamika Watkins (James), Tiffany Love; One brother,Vernon Cliett (Renee); three grandchildren, Tyriek Lampkin Jr, Brooke-Lynn Lampkin, Karter Lampkin; three nephews, Vernon Cliett Jr, Jermau Gass and Jerrell Love; one niece, Joy Cliett; a cousin with whom she had a sisterly bond, Trina Devore, her lifelong friend Leslie Thomas who always be found assisting her when she was out and a host of aunts, uncles, great nephews, cousins and friends.
