Lorraine C. Smith
1944 – 2026
With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Lorraine C. Smith on May 14, 2026, at the age of 81 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.
Daughter of Joseph H. Smith Sr and Anna F. Lawrey, Lorraine was born in Media, PA. Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, faithful church servant, and beloved friend. She dedicated more than 40 years of service as an X-ray Technologist at Lankenau Medical Center, Riddle Memorial Hospital, Boeing, and Schatzberg Chiropractic.
Lorraine faithfully served her church as a Church Clerk, Sunday School Superintendent, Dorcas Missionary Society, the Voices Choir, and the Delco Mass Choir. Her life was a testimony of faith, compassion, service, and love.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carlita Ferguson and Shannon Lawson; grandchildren Caira Ferguson-Nash (Curtis), Ira Ferguson, Jr. (Ashley), and Jaida Lawson; great-grandchildren Camryn Ferguson-Williams, Camauri Ferguson-Carter, and Aliyah Ferguson; siblings Veronica White (Herbert), Walter Smith (Sheila), Blanche Kuyateh, Anthony Smith Sr. (Valerie), and Connie Pratt (Juan); and a host of loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Annie Smith, grandson Jordan Lawson, brothers Frank Muse and Joseph Smith Jr., sister Joanne Somerville, niece Diamond Smith and nephews Walter Smith, Jr. and Raymond Somerville Jr.
