THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF LAMONT G. NEAL

 

Lamont G. Neal was born in Chester, Pennsylvania on June 17, 1953 to the late William W. Neal and Irene C. Neal. He went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2022; while residing at the home of his daughter Samera Neal’Miller at 302 Concord Ave, Wilmington, Delaware 19802.

 

Lamont was a graduate of Chester High School class of 1973. Lamont began employment at a very young age. Lamont worked on a truck selling fruits, vegetables and meats in the community. Lamont went on to work for Seal Test Ice Cream Company as a Security Guard, Sun Ship Yard as a Pipe Fitter, Scott Paper Inc. as a Forklift Driver and Media Inn, Crosby Square in the maintenance department and for Lou Hunt as a Supervisor of Maintenance.

 

Lamont was joyous in nature. Lamont loves to talk to everyone and to tell stories. Lamont was lovelingly known as Bubbling Brown Sugar, Daddy Brown and Pops. His favorite saying was; Look no further, because here I am! 

 

In addition to his parents, Lamont is preceded in death by his 2 older brothers: Wesley William Neal and Thaddeus Ronald Neal.

 

Lamont is survived by his children Lamont W. Dates Jr., Patricia A. Tyson’Dates (Tyler), Katrina N. Dates, Bryheem A. Neal’Ferguson, Tristan Aucher, Samera S. Neal’Miller (Vincent), Larace I. Neal, Jamire Neal (Shante), and Ashley Neal. 

Survived by his 27 Grands and 17 great-grand children. And a host of nieces and nephews. 

 

Also survived by his siblings: Barbara Jean Johnson (lives in Gary, Indiana), Yvonne Vest (Live Oak, Florida), Gwendolyn Neal, Marva Neal and Brendette Gilbert of Chester, Pennsylvania, 1 Brother Lawrence J. Neal (lives in Portland, Maine).

 

 

 

 

 

The family of Lamont G. Neal extends heartfelt thanks for all of your acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy extended to us during this time. Your prayers, cards, visits, phone calls and other encouragements have been a source of strength and comfort to us.
