Juanita P Gibbs

Juanita P Gibbs affectionately known as ‘Nita” was born on Jan.10,1938 on the “Hill” in Chester, Pa. She was born to the late Charles and Ida Mae Price, as their second child and who would eventually become the oldest daughter of seven children in the family. As a life time resident of Chester she loved her city as much as she loved her family. Thorughout her 82 years of life not only had she seen the good and bad changes of Chester, but also the good and bad changes of her family. In Nov. 1958 she married the late and dapper William E Gibbs(Gibby) and was blessed in their union of 57 years with 5 beautiful children William A Gibbs(Wife Maxine), Kim B Gibbs, Resa Ann Gibbs, Edward Gibbs and Jerrod Gibbs. But first she loved her family of brothers and sister. Brother Herman Price and Hugh Buchanan, Her 4 sisters Marie Price, Olive Price, Lydia Price and Barbara Buchanan. Nita loved and would come to love everyone of her children, her children offspring and every offspring of her brothers and sisters children. When her mother died in 1979 she become the matriarch of the family and took on that role very seriously, giving of her heart and time to every family member.

Nita grew up in the city of Chester where she was educated, worked and played with siblings, family and many friends. After graduating from Chester High in 1956 she worked as a counselor, teachers aid and dry cleaner. Even though she enjoyed her work her passion and love was raising her children with her husband and spending time with her extended family. She loved listening to her children and loved giving advice to them and other family members.

She loved many things in life, music, tv, dancing and traveling just to name a few, but in 1994 she come to love something else.

 After many years of studying and believing Nita made her dedication to Jehovah God and was baptized in 1994. From that year on until her passing, She remained a faithful servant of Jehovah preaching and declaring the good news of the Kingdom.For several years Sis Nita Gibbs enjoyed her service and fellowship with her spiritual brothers and sisters. She clearly established a loving relationship with Jehovah and Jehovah people.

However no doubt in Nita 82 years of life, she also saw the bad. 

Nita was predeceased by her husband, parents, brother Herman Price and her two sisters Marie Price and Olive Rowe.Also she was predeceased by her children Kim B Gibbs, Resa Ann Gibbs and Edward Gibbs. She leaves to cherish her memory sons William and Jerrod Gibbs, Her live at home Grandson Sean Gibbs and 15 grandchildren Essence Gibbs, Andre Gibbs, Mason Gibbs, Evin Gibbs, Ellis Gibbs, Eric Gibbs, Amir Gibbs, Risa Gibbs, Nia Gibbs, Amil Gibbs, Jaquan Gibbs, Javai Gibbs, Maya Gibbs, Troy Kyles and last but not least Lesean Gibbs. She is also survived by 2 sisters Hydia Johnson and Barbara Williams, one brother Hugh Buchanan and a host of loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
