Jacquelyn Annette Jones, age 57, was born on August 23, 1967, in Yonkers, NY, to James J. Jones Sr. and Lucille A. Mosley. She was the fourth of six children and was affectionately known as Jackie. Jackie transitioned on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.
In January of 1981, Jackie moved to Chester, where she was educated in the Mt. Vernon and Chester Upland School Districts. She graduated in 1985 from Chester High School. Jackie furthered her education at Cheyney University, where she studied Business Administration, and later earned an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology from Peirce College. Jackie spent the remainder of her career at Penn Medicine, where she worked as a Lead Supervisor.
Twenty-five years ago, Jackie met Sheila Sutton—lovingly known as Bootsie—and they were united in marriage on May 24, 2017.
Jackie lived a full and meaningful life as a mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. She was a kind-hearted, outgoing socialite who cherished spending time with her loved ones. Her selfless spirit was felt by all who crossed her path, and her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Jackie’s gentle nature will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She found joy in the simple things: playing pool, watching football, dancing, planning trips, and, above all, filling the room with her laughter. But nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Jackie’s cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of her wife, Sheila; her three daughters, Jennifer, Lateschia (Lashone Sr.), and Regina; her four grandchildren, Camryn, Jenai, Aalani, and Lashone Jr.; her siblings, Preston, James (Carma), Reginald (Anitra), and her twin sister, Jennifer (Vielka); her beloved aunt, Erma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her son, Reginald; her mother, Lucille A. Mosley; her father, James J. Jones Sr.; and her brother, Christopher.
