A Time of Life to Cherish and Remember

A TIME TO BE BORN: Harry Maurice Tyler was born December 10, 1963 in Chester, Pennsylvania to Harry I. Tyler and Leoner E. Byrd. Harry was baptized at an early age at Siloam Methodist Church in Chester Pennsylvania. As a youngster, he was given the nickname “Harry Hip” by his friends growing up on the East Side of Chester. Still today, he is known as “Harry Hip”.

A TIME TO LOVE: Harry loved his family, children and grand-children. Harry loved the water, he especially liked going to Chester Park or the Chester Riverfront to fish or just to think. Harry would always say, it was peaceful near the water and it is there where he would go to talk with God whenever he was troubled and to find his peace.

Harry loved to watch Western Movies, Sanford and Son, CSI and Lifetime and he would never get tired of watching reruns. He loved to listen to the Old School music and the Oldies but Goodies. His favorite songs were Tamela Mann “Take Me To The King”, Sam Cooke “Change Gonna Come” and Frank Sinatra “My Way”.

Harry was truly “Special”, As a child in Elementary School, he entered a talent show contest. Where he sang, danced, and did a James Brown move across the floor. He pushed the microphone away, spun around, went down in a split, came up and caught the microphone. The audience went crazy. He had a “Standing Ovation”, people were on their feet screaming, shouting, and applauding. Harry performed and sang a song written by Joe Tex called “I Gotcha” and he was the “STAR” of the show. Harry took home the first-place prize award. Everyone, especially the girls treated him like he was a celebrity and he loved it.

Harry loved to go “Over Town” to have a good time sitting and laughing with his friends. He also loved to sit in the park and socialize with people he called his “Old Heads” because he felt they were full of Wisdom. Harry loved to fellowship at City Team Ministries where he would receive hot meals and free clothing. Harry knew many people and his joy was in helping and giving to the homeless.

A TIME TO DIE: Harry Maurice Tyler, entered his eternal rest on Wednesday, November 11, 2021 due to complications of Covid-19 Pneumonia. Harry was proceeded in death by his brother (Irvin Arnez Tyler).

A TIME TO MOURN: Harry leaves to mourn and to cherish his memory are his parents (Father) Harry I. Tyler and (Mother) Leoner E. Byrd; Two sisters, Shawn Harris and Tonya Tyler; Two daughters, Nicole Tyler and Janyae Johnson (Howard); Two sons, Jamir Williams and Harry Tyler III; Seven grandchildren Ha’Nazia and Ha’Nayah Tyler, Destiny Halley, Jeyceon and Howard Johnson Jr., Arihanna and Zameerah Williams; One God-Sister Ruth Ann Johnson. A Three nieces Tynisha Newell, Shante Newell; Shanay Murray and One nephew Tyrone Newell Jr., Four Great Nieces and Four Great Nephews and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends. Two Special Friends Donna Bain and Yamean Carter.
