Gary Stewart Obituary

Gary Monroe Stewart was born on September 13, 1955, in Chester, PA, to the late Rosetta A. West and Lloyd Richardson. He entered eternal life on October 31, 2024, at Crozer Hospital.

Gary was educated in the Chester Public School System. After graduating from Chester High School, he began his career in the union, later retiring to work as an independent contractor.

Gary married his beloved wife, Sheryl Stewart, and together they lived for several years in Brookhaven, PA.

Known for his vibrant personality, Gary was truly the life of the party. As he often said, he was "a small piece of leather, well put together." A devoted Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers fan, Gary enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and sharing playful banter with family and friends.

Gary’s faith was his first love, followed closely by his cherished daughter, Kina, his “Princess.”

Gary was preceded in death by his Parents, Rosetta A. West and Lloyd Richardson;Grandparents, Phillip and Velma Stewart; Brothers, Robert P. and Michael Stewart; Son, Gary Stewart; and Grandson, Fasaad Johnson.

He leaves behind countless fond and humorous memories for those who loved him. Surviving are his Wife, Sheryl Stewart; children, Michael Simmons and Sakina Stewart; stepchildren, Myron Brown, Sharon Brown, and Taheerah Payne; Goddaughter, Kamira Stewart; brothers, George Stewart, Carl Stewart (Veronica), and Lonnie Morris (Jessica); Sisters, Myra Rideout (Gerald), Geraldyne Young, Elayne Day (Erwin), Janet, Deborah, and Melody Johnson; and twelve grandchildren.

Gary will be deeply missed by a host of family and friends who cherished him.
