Flossie Ree Purnell

Flossie Ree Purnell was born on July 17, 1943 to the late Esther Newell in Sharkey, Mississipi. As a young child Flossie and her mother moved to Chicago where they lived until she was old enough to live on her own. At a certain time in her life, Flossie acquired a taste for travel which led her to many places. After living in Chicago, Flossie set of to explore  the world on her own, she moved to Bullhead City, Arizona and then to Los Angeles where she worked as a mall security guard. It was in Los Angeles that Flossie met the love of her life and husband, Donald Purnell; they married in 1993 in North Hero, Vermont.

As Flossie settled into married life, her love of travel transferred into love for her husband and Children. Although not born to her, nothing could stop Flossie from being a. Nurturing and protective mother. She always took the time to make sure her family felt the warmth of her love. Along with the full-time job go being a wife and mother, Flossie worked at KFC and later at the Camden County Health Medical Center.

Later in life, Flossie and Donald moved to Chester, Pa. She went to many churches before joining The Chester Church of God. Flossie became sick nearly five years ago and her sister-in-law Wendy took care of her. Flo, as she was affectionately known, passed away on April 1, 2022.

Flo leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Donald Purnell of Chester, Pa, and children Donald, Herman, Angie, Chris, Cedric and Goddaughter Tiara. Sisters-in-Law  Edward (Velma), William (Sherry), and Carlo. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-Law Betty Ann Emmens; Sister-in-law Sandra, Donna, Monique, Brothers-in-law Calvin, Torro and Jeffery.
