Estrella Durham Watts was born March 26 1956. She departed this life on August 8, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Mary Showell and Lloyd Young. She was loved and raised by her adoptive father the late Howell Durham Sr.
She received her education through the Chester Upland School District. From there she attended Wilfred Beauty Academy for cosmetology in which she pursued being a hair stylist. She worked many years at Miss Camilla’s doing hair. Later she received her CNA license at Fair Acres and did many years of nursing which she truly loved at places like Chester Care Center, Wallingford Nursing Home and Elwyn.. Her latest career choice was a PCA for the Chester Upland School District.
She was saved at The Word Of Life.. She later became a devoted church member of Eternal Hope Of Glory.
Raised on the East Side of Chester many people knew Estrella as “Sister West” (Don’t take no mess) .. A devoted wife to her husband Mack Watts. She was well known for her fashion, her bright personality, her individuality, being a true socialite and just all around a great woman.
She leaves to cherish her memories of five loving daughters Althea Durham, Lakisha Durham of Jacksonville Florida, Monique Patrick and significant other Jermaine McMillan, Jazlyn Durham, and Ayonna Durham. One amazing son Eric Durham of Seattle Washington. Her sister Rose Durham- Minter and her brothers Robert Durham, Marshall Durham, Wilbur Durham, Lloyd Young and wife Carolyn Young, Her Bonus Daughters whom she loved deeply Doreen Jordan and Donna West-Islam Shakur Zawjah
She was proceeded in death by her daughter Brittany Watts, her two sisters Althea West, and Jackie Young and her three brothers Alphonso West, Howell (Tinker) Durham Jr and James(Tony) Showell.
She is loved by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews..
