Emiliano Echevarria Obituary

Emiliano “Lalu” Echevarria was born on August 2, 1971, in Crozer Hospital, Upland, Pa, to Florence Perry-Echevarria and Jose Echevarria.

Emiliano or “Lalu” as he was affectionately called, attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School and completed his education in the Chester Upland School District, where he graduated from Chester High School in June 1988.

Lalu was the father of three daughters and two sons and a grandfather of two. He enjoyed his relationship with his children and loved family gatherings and celebrations where he could display his talent for music. His love for music to him was his high point in life with his creative and very much original style in sending his message from his heart through “Rap” songs. He said that “music expresses what words cannot.” Not only did he write his own songs, but he also had a music beat that no one could duplicate. He merely wanted to send a message and capture attention. He was faithful and always looking out for friends and family.

Emiliano attended both the Million Man and Family March located in Washington, D.C. He escorted his mother to the Second District Regal Ball. Aside from being talented, he was tastefully stylish and his presence could liven up a room filled with those that understood him. Most of all, he was strong, fearless, and believed in God. He was baptized at an early age in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Chester and later in his adulthood life, developed an interest in the Nation of Islam. He loved taking care of others less fortunate than he was and with his warming heart took on many roles as a dad, brother, uncle, friend, confidant, and “big brother”, with an ear to listen and rap songs for support, guidance, and understanding. Throughout his life, he tried to teach those interested in the meaning of music, so the Lord said to Lalu, “you like music”. So, he delivered him over to music. His relationship with God was one on one, know that he believed in the Lord.

Emiliano was preceded in death by his Father Jose Luis Echevarria, Sr., Brothers; Jose Luis Echevarria Jr., Carmen Otis Perry, and Daniel Santos Echevarria, Sister; Luz Maria Marcono Echevarria. Emiliano will be sadly missed by friends and family, he leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Florence Perry-Echevarria, one sister Marisol Echevarria of Jacksonville, Florida, three daughters: Destiny Reed, E’Mizhae Grant-Echevarria, and Emoni White, two sons: Eshon Grant-Echevarria and Emaaj Fulton-Echevarria all of Chester, Pa.
