Obituary for Ella “Angel” Thompson
Ella “Angel” Thompson, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and care. Born the youngest child of the late Ella and Ernest Thompson, Angel carried a warmth and light that touched everyone she encountered.
She was educated at Chester Upland School District. She devoted her career to Rose Tree Place in Media, Pennsylvania, where her compassion and dedication touched residents, families, and coworkers. Angel joined Temple of Prayer Church Inc in 2018.
Angel’s greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and loving mother to her four sons Ikeam Watkins II, Keyonte’ Watkins, Khalid Watkins, and Karell Watkins Sr. She poured her heart into raising them, instilling in each of them her resilience, humor, and unconditional love. She was also a devoted grandmother to Kynlee Scott-Watkins, Key’Lanii Watkins, Karell Watkins Jr and Ikeam Watkins III who brought endless joy to her life. Angel loved spending time with her grandchildren and cherished every moment she had with them. She also shared a lifelong bond with Ikeam Sr., an amazing friend and the father of her children, who remained a constant source of love and support.
Angel will be remembered for her giving spirit, her laughter and her beautiful smile that could brighten any room. She always puts others before herself. She was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan, always rooting for her team with pride. Angel loved gathering with family and friends, singing, dancing, and simply spending time making memories with her loved ones.
She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Ella and Ernest Thompson, and her brothers, Anthony (Tony) Matthews and Robert Thompson. Cherishing her memory are her loving brothers and sisters: Eric Matthews of Florida; Karen Wilson; Ernest (Shamir) Matthews; Reginald (Rahim) Thompson; and Dawn Thompson; as well as Andre Armstrong, Ernest Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Crystal Thompson Maxwell, and Cheryl Thompson Hilton. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and her dearest best friends/sisters, Sharonn Barrett and Dakirah Martin.
Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
