Edward Hinton
July 15,1959- December 11, 2025
Edward Hinton, age 66, passed away peacefully at Riddle Memorial Hospital after a short battle with illness. Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Johnny Mae Branch and Edward Hinton, he was raised in Chester, Pennsylvania. After graduating Chester High School, Ed attended Cheyney University for a year to pursue a degree in architecture. Upon becoming employed at Sacred Heart Hospital in Chester, PA, he fell in love with being an orderly. He held this position for 15 years before he transitioned into security work, which occupied his time for the next 10 years at Community Hospital. He continued to do security throughout Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Ed was an avid sports fan, favoring the Lakers, the Miami Heat, and his absolute favorite team: the Dallas Cowboys. Ed loved music and was known by many as DJ Hollywood. He DJed at Kelly’s Bar and Grill on 7th Street in Chester, family functions, and community events. A great week for Ed would include word searches, hoagies, and a TV to watch a Cowboys game. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was a kind and amiable man that had a deep love for his family, laughter, and the Lord. Ed was a loving son, father, brother, and friend.
Ed was proceeded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his long-time partner and caregiver Alicia Jacobs and devoted daughter Inez Jacobs-Hinton. He is also survived by sons Kareem Hinton and Martin Cox-Hinton, grandchildren Jayden Mallard and Jordan Hinton, 2 siblings Gwendoyln Coles and Harrold Hinton, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
