Clarice Stone Obituary

CLARICE MALIA JACKSON STONE was born February 10, 1935 in Halifax, Virginia to the late James and Janueve Jackson. She was the youngest girl of the siblings. She departed this life on June 11, 2023 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Media, Pennsylvania.

She attended Chester Schools, O.I.C for Electronics, worked at Gerald Electronics in North Philadelphia. She also worked at Mercy Hospital, Chester Extended Care, in Chester, PA. Her chosen career was in Nursing, where she worked as a Nurse for Fair Acres for 14 years until she retired.

She was a Member of the Ladies Only, Post 300, 7th & Lloyd Street.

Clarice joined Calvary Baptist Church and became a member, then later became a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she attended until she became ill.

Clarice was a loving mother but she was also a force to be reckoned with, a 44 years Cancer survivor. She was strong and vigilant about raising her children to be proper young ladies and gentlemen. You could always count on her to be there if you needed her. She also had a fun, playful side to her. She loved people. She loved being around people. She loved entertaining and was quite good at it. Her spirit was very contagious and it molded her children to become who they are today. There was always BBQ’s and parties at the Stone’s residence in the Lamokin Village. The children of the LV(our friends) thought of her as a second Mom and use to refer to her as Bergie because she was a mentor who gave them great advice and encouragement.

She is survived by her husband Robert Lee Stone and 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls. Roslyn Butler of Hinesville, GA, Robert Stone Jr. of Chester, PA, Kimberly Dale (David) of Bear, DE, Augartha Trusty (Donald) of Media, PA, Jason Stone (Denise) of Chester, PA, Cherine Bethea (Maurice) of Chester, PA, Raven and Lavar Edwards.
