Clara (Clarice) Loither Born in Savannah, Georgia to Stella and John. Clara moved to Chester,
PA with her aunt Florence Taylor. At the age of 7. She went to school in the Chester school
district. Her first job at the age of 18 years old was as a welder for 10 years at the navy
shipyard in Philadelphia and Sunship Dry Dock Co. She also worked at Fair Acres as a CNA
for 10 years. In her spare time she learned how to make wine. She was known for her many
talents and skills. She loved the horse races and played the street lottery and PA lottery. Clara
loved traveling and took regular cruises. She was known for her home cooking, especially her
home made rolls and pies. Clara was a faithful attendant at St. Katherines Drexel and
Immaculatta heart of Mary Churches. She also attended rosary services every Tuesday and
Sunday. Clara was the wife of the late Daniel Mifflin and mother to nine children, three of which
proceeded her in death:"
Florence Hill, Wilhelmina Thompson, William (Butch) Thompson. Also two brothers and one
sister: Frederick and Thomas Heidt and Bernice Loither Johnson Reid. Survived by six children:
Lamont Thompson, Valeria Gardner, Roslyn Thompson, Lynell Thompson. Joseph Thompson,
John Thompson, and a host of grand children, great grandchildren and great great
grandchildren
