Alphonso Baxter Obituary

Alphonso Cornelius Baxter (Nealie) peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 29th, 2024. He was born in Glenolden, PA on May 26th 1951to the late Cornelius and Geraldine (Baxter) Blakeney.

Nealie was preceded in death by his parents, Wife Sarah Craig, brothers Keith and James Blakeney, special Aunt and Uncle Mabel and Lawrence Baxter, who he lived with while in Glenolden, PA.

Nealie attended school in Ridley township. While attending school he was an avid track star, who was known as “turkey” because he was so fast. Upon his mothers’ transition to Bryn Mawr he attended and graduated from Conestoga High School. Immediately after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was sent to the naval training Center in San Diego California.

After serving his complete time, he received an honorable discharge. Returning home from the service, Nealie worked for Atlas Trucking company in Sharon Hill, PA then he changed his career and worked for Kent Dental Company in Aston, PA. He later retired from Rite Aid as a Security guard.

Nealie was a loyal Washington Red skins (Commanders) Fan. You would always catch him in his red and yellow colors holding a beer. Pabst blue ribbon was his favorite.

He leaves to Cherish his memory, his Daughter Mary Baxter (Net), two grandchildren Aaliyah Jackson, and Jordin Baxter. Stepson, Anthony Moss (Tinu), seven step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, brother Edwin Blakeney, his very special friend, brother, and cousin that was always there for him, Charles Towns (Bootsie), Uncle Joseph Baxter, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
