Robert (Bobby) Henry Young, age 29, passed away on October 19th, 2018 following a long battle with depression and addiction. Born in Chester, PA on August 1st, 1989 he was the beloved son of Bob and Jackie (Burress) Young and beloved brother of Hannah Young.
Bobby attended Woodlyn Christian School for 8 years, was a 2007 graduate of Ridley High School in Folsom, PA and was a semester shy of a Fine Arts/ Psychology degree at Widener University in Chester, PA. A prolific writer, especially of poetry, Bobby was also an avid reader, music lover and traveler, both in the U.S. and abroad. He lived and studied for 1 ½ years in Durango, CO and completed study abroad programs in Greifswald, Germany, Chongqing, China and London, England.
In addition to his parents and sister, he is survived by his maternal grandmother Jacqueline Burress, aunts Lillian Thompson (Bill), Eileen Shelton (Rob), Loretta Marmer (Larry), Maria Bhatti (Mohindar), and Dottie Rysak (Clem) and uncles Jack Young, Gerry Young, Vincent Young (Alice) as well as many cousins and friends and his much loved cat, Rien.
A Memorial Service for Bobby will be held this Thursday night, October 25th at Woodlyn Baptist Church, 1125 MacDade Blvd, Woodlyn, PA. Calling hours are from 5:30 to 6:45 to be followed by a service at 7:00 PM. A repast will be served in the church fellowship hall after the service.
